Looking to do more to end child detention in Australia?

29 August 2017

Are you interested in joining forces with an exceptional group of people to stand up for children’s rights?

Do you have great communication skills and the ability to motivate others?

Are you keen to get stuck into some strategic grassroots advocacy to end child detention in Australia?

Join an electorate action team with the End Child Detention Coalition! You will help lead efforts to build both support within your electorate and bi-partisan political support to end child detention in Australia.

Play a vital role ensuring the momentum of your electorate action team is maintained and well managed in one of 10 key electorates across Australia.

As a member of an electorate action team, you will coordinate advocacy, organise training and support ongoing local media engagement (both mainstream and social media), guided by ECDC advisors based around Australia.

Each electorate action team needs:

1. Electorate Team Coordinator
2. Media & Communications Officer
3. Advocacy & Community Engagement Officer

Your passion is the most important element for your success in this role.

These are voluntary positions requiring a minimum of 4 – 6 hours per week commitment until the next election (estimated to be in early 2019).

For more information about the 10 target electorates where we will be working please contact Michelle at michelle@endchilddetention.org with the name of your federal electorate. (If unsure, just give your postcode.)
